One killed in fiery truck accident on I-20

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene after a fiery tractor trailer truck crash, reportedly involving three trucks, that happened in the eastbound lane of I-20 on the afternoon of July 15, WRDW reported.

Authorities said a commercial truck driving east and carrying paper rear-ended another tractor trailer after failing to halt for stopped traffic. The same truck then swerved off the road and hit the cement guard, bursting into flames. The driver died immediately.

The burnt and unrecognized body was sent to the GBI Lab in Atlanta for autopsy and identification. Autopsy results say blunt force injuries caused the driver’s tragic death.

The affected portion of the highway was closed for at least one day, while officials said repairs would take an additional three days to conclude.

The lawyers of the Ausband & Dumont extend their deep condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones affected by this tragic truck accident.
