Two killed in I-85 tractor-trailer crash

On Thursday, June 30th, at 2:30 p.m, two people were killed in a crash along Interstate 85 northbound. The crash happened near Pleasant Hill Road. I-85 was shut down for hours as police investigated, but has reopened.

Officers say a tractor trailer, hauling tens of thousands of pounds of steel, was traveling northbound when the white car lost control and swerved into the path of the tractor trailer. Two people in the white car died and three others were injured. The driver of the tractor-trailer was also taken to the hospital.
Authorities are still trying to identify the passengers who died.
