Two people were killed and another person was airlifted with severe injuries following an accident between four semi-trucks and one pickup truck that occurred on Wednesday evening, August 31 on Interstate 20 in Georgia.
The accident started just after 6 p.m. on the eastbound side of the road known by locals as Temple Carrollton Road. The first semi-truck, operated by the severely injured person, hit another semi-truck, which hit the pickup truck before becoming airborne and hitting the third semi-truck; the third truck hit a fourth and final truck.
The two victims killed were the pickup truck’s driver and passenger, as confirmed by the Department of Public Safety officials. Charges have yet to be filed as the investigation was still being conducted by the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT).
