KARLA R. DOBSON v. KEVIN THOMPSON AND AON TRUCK GROUP
At the time of the accident, Mrs. Dobson was traveling on Fayetteville Road in Clayton County, Georgia. Mr. Thompson was making left turn onto Fayetteville Road from Tara Boulevard when his vehicle side-swiped Mrs. Dobson’s vehicle on the driver’s side.
Plaintiff complained of mild back pain but sought no medical treatment for approximately six weeks after the wreck. As her back pain increased, Plaintiff got medical treatment which revealed a cervical disc protrusion and L5-S1 central disc herniation with lumbar radiculopathy.
She, also, received two epidural injections and physical therapy for her injuries. She also tried heat packs, pain medications and a TENS unit. Mrs. Dobson also received fluoroscopy guided left S1 nerve root block. As nonoperative treatments did not improve Mrs. Dobson’s pain, left L5-S1 hemilaminotomy and diskectomy had to be performed at the Emory Hospital.
The case settled prior to filing a lawsuit in the amount of one hundred twenty five thousand dollars ($125,000.00).
