Avon Products Inc. is recalling eyelash curlers sold in the U.S. and Canada after receiving reports that the product may break and cause harm to its users, NBC News reported on May 13.
The recall was prompted after 24 reported incidents of breaks were received by the company. Out of the 24 reported cases, 13 had led to an injury due to the exposure of a metal pin in the product. The recalled eyelash curlers have model number F3093441 written in its package and were sold between 2007 and 2014 for $5.
Close to 520,000 Avon curlers are affected by the recall, 478,000 of which were sold in the U.S. Avon encouraged consumers not to use the defective product and to contact them for a possible product alternative or refund.
