Drivers of the 2011 to 2013 Ford Fiesta are waiting to see if the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will order a recall due to defective door latches.
In an online report published on Monday, September 15, states the NHTSA is looking to recall 205,000 2011-2013 Ford Fiestas as the agency investigates 61 complaints of the door not properly latching. One reported case involves an 83-year old woman who got hit by a door that bounced back after trying to close it. Another incident claims the door opened while driving.
A spokeswoman from Ford said in an interview that the car maker is cooperating with the NHTSA, and urged Ford Fiesta owners to address any such problems with their local dealership.
