Apple has announced it is recalling approximately 222,000 Beats Pill XL speakers over reports of batteries overheating and posing a fire safety risk, according to a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on June 3.
The company has already received eight reports in which the speakers overheated. The affected products were sold at Apple Retail Stores and other major retailers nationwide from January 2014 to June 2015 in five different colors: white, pink, black, titanium, and metallic sky. Affected consumers are asked to contact Apple for details about how to obtain an electronic payment or an Apple Store credit of $325.
