Partner Andrew Ausband of Ausband & Dumont secured an impressive victory last week against the insurance provider Occidental Fire & Casualty after they wrongly denied coverage to their client Irish Bred Pub & Grill following a fatal stabbing of a patron by an off-duty bouncer at the club. The long-running case finally settled after eight years, and the family of the deceased individual’s family will finally receive compensation. In the end, the insurer agreed to pay $7.8 Million for initially agreeing and accepting payment to insure the operations of the bar and restaurant, yet ultimately failing to provide the coverage.
Attorney Ausband partnered with co-counsel John “Jay” Peavey Jr. of Atlanta on the case.
